EAP CIR: Death of an Employee, A Multi-Systemic Resiliency Approach

CE Hours 2

About this course

When a workplace is notified that an employee has died, it sets off a series of emotional reactions within employees, and operations by the organization in which the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) becomes actively involved in both. The role the EAP from the onset is to offer steady, compassionate guidance to organizational leadership, clinical support to those impacted, and subject matter expertise on crisis intervention, grief reactions, and fostering resilience. However models of grief are plenty, crisis intervention objectives vary and even in the field of Critical Incident Response (CIR), different target populations alter method. Drawing upon EAP Critical Incident Response: Multi-Systemic Resiliency Approach (MSRA) this training clearly defines the appropriate grief models and interventions, both onsite and virtual, specific to working within the EAP Mission and various workplace cultures.
